As Time Goes By

Everything used to be so simple, so full of happiness and beautiful memories. Now everything's complicated. We mature, we change and so do our views and our ways of thinking. Now there's so much to think about. What will happen if she doesn't go? Why can't people accept her for who she is? What will I say to her next? Why won't this work? Why won't you give me a hug? So many questions, not enough answers. We think about many things every day but the same questions continue to circle our minds.

Every day, we go on wishing that they will somehow be gone but that is never the case. Unless someone does something, this will always be. We can't just wish. We can't just wait for others. There's never enough time.

Things change every day and it's unstoppable. It's like the winds that can't be tamed, the breezes that can't be controlled. There's nothing we can do but to adapt and change ourselves because it's almost impossible to change others.

People never know what you're going through until they step into your shoes but they will never know because each experience, although similar, is never the same so we can never truly understand and fully appreciate.

I'm Defying Gravity

Something has changed within me. Something is not the same. I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game. Too late for second guesses, too late to go back to sleep. It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes and leap. It's time to try defying gravity. I think I'll try defying gravity and you can't pull me down.

I'm through with accepting limits because someone says they're so. Some things I cannot change but until I try, I'll never know. Too long I've been afraid of loosing love I guess I've lost. Well if that's love, then it comes at a much too high a cost. I'd sooner buy defying gravity. Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity and you can't bring me down.

Unlimited. Together we're unlimited. Together, we'll be the greatest team there's ever been. Dreams, the way we planned them. There no fight we cannot win. Just you an I defying gravity. With you and I defying gravity, they'll never bring us down.

So if you care to find me, look to the western sky cause someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly. And if I'm flying solo, at least I'm flying free. To those who'd ground me, take a message back from me. Tell them how I am defying gravity. I'm flying high, I'm defying gravity. No one is ever going to bring me down.
